Located in the heart of West Portal, Unwine'd is more than just a neighborhood wine bar. Our space combines the warmth of a cozy gathering place with thoughtfully curated food, boutique wines, and genuine hospitality. We specialize in creating events that don't feel like cookie-cutter banquet experiences. Instead, every event is tailored to you and your guests. Our private lounge is perfect for intimate celebrations of up to 25 seated guests or approximately 45-50 guests for a standing reception. For larger gatherings, we also offer full restaurant buyouts, accommodating up to 110 guests. Whether you're envisioning a seated dinner, passed appetizers and wine, a cocktail-style reception, or a custom tasting experience, we'll work with you to bring your vision to life. One of our favorite parts of hosting private events is helping you curate the menu. We'll guide you through our selection of Greek and Italian dishes and thoughtfully chosen old world and California wines to create a menu that perfectly complements your event. We even invite many of our hosts in before their event to taste wines together and finalize the details, making the planning process just as enjoyable as the celebration itself. Our events are designed to be effortless for our hosts. From dedicated service staff to personalized menus and flexible event formats, we take care of the details so you can focus on spending time with your guests. What are the rental rates and what do they include?
Quotes given include use of the space, dedicated staff, and food & wine during the event’s allotted time. They do not include tax and minimum 20% gratuity.
What is the capacity for a private event?
50 is the maximum number of guests we can have in the lounge space. For past events, 45 has been the most comfortable with 50 being the max allowing for more standing room. For full buyout opportunities, 110 is the max number of guests.
Can we bring in catering or do you offer catering services?
Allowing outside catering introduces additional variables that could potentially compromise food safety standards, putting our guests at risk. Therefore, we have chosen to not allow outside catering.
Are there any restrictions on decoration or entertainment?
Decorations are welcome. Please note that there are certain areas in the private room where decorations may not be placed, and tape cannot be used on the walls or surfaces. Our event staff will be happy to guide you on where decorations can be placed upon arrival. We simply ask that any items brought in for décor are also removed and cleaned up by your group at the end of the event. Live music is also welcome and always appreciated! This includes DJs and live bands.
How far in advance should someone book the private events room?
As soon as you begin considering hosting an event, we encourage you to reach out. Our calendar often fills several months in advance, so inquiring early helps ensure the best chance of securing your preferred date. However, if you are in need of an event planned in little to no time, we can accommodate an event within a week as long as the date is available.
Do you require a deposit to secure a private event?
In order to secure a private event, we require a $1,000 deposit. This will go towards your final payment the date of the event.
Is there a minimum spending rate for booking the room?
Our events are at an all-inclusive rate. Quotes for events can be dependent on many factors, including and not limited to time frame, day, and total number of guests.
Can we schedule a tour of the private events room before booking?
We encourage all our clients to schedule some time to come and see the space in person. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and finalize details about how you would like the space set up for the event.
What is the cancellation policy for private events?
To reserve your event date, a deposit is required. Because private event dates are limited and we often turn away other inquiries once a reservation is confirmed, deposits are subject to the following cancellation policy. **Standard Events (January–October)** - Cancellations made **more than 30 calendar days** prior to the event will receive a **full refund of the deposit**. - Cancellations made **30 calendar days or less** prior to the event will result in the **forfeiture of the full deposit**. **Holiday Events (November–December)** - Cancellations made **31–60 calendar days** prior to the event will result in the **forfeiture of 50% of the deposit**. - Cancellations made **30 calendar days or less** prior to the event will result in the **forfeiture of the full deposit**.

Leave a ReviewExcellent wine bar. Food was very good, loved the tyrokafteri with pita and baked feta were phenomenal. Ambience is fun, not a stuffy wine bar…music is playing, good vibes, lots of groups hanging out having a good time in “lounge” (back room). Also has two person tables for intimate setting (saw several “dates”). Highly recommend.
What an incredible evening at Unwine’d for their Champagne & Truffles night!! Every course was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious, indulgent, and perfectly paced. The wine pairings were spot on and really elevated the entire experience. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Everything felt seamless from start to finish, with such impressive attention to detail. You could tell a lot of care went into every element of the night, without it ever feeling stuffy or overdone. Can’t wait to attend the next one! Unwine’d really knows how to do a special evening right.
