I always wanted to come this place, finally got a chance to come during birthday. It is a very famous restaurant in DC, love the vibe of the decoration indoor. We’ve started with their bread, love the bread softness and chewy texture. Mixed well with the miso cream. The plate used is also very cute. Then we go with the famous pork and lychee salad, it’s very refreshing, tastes a bit like Thai fusion. Tuna tartare stuffed in avocado is a good idea, quite interesting presentation, not only picture pretty but we like the tastes as well. We also got some today’s special item not on the menu, but they treated all the table. For pasta we ordered the pasta en papillote, and colonne pompeii. pasta en papillote is just like cacio e pepe, nothing special but og, the pasta though is very special, also chewy and long. I’ll say the colonne pompeii is one of the spotlight, I love the sweetness of the pea and the hint of mint in the sauce. Tastes very refreshing and wants to crave for more. The final entree we choose miso glazed sea bass, we love the sea bass velvety texture and the sweetness hint from miso, the only cons here is the portion is too small for 2 to share. We felt quite empty after finishing the plate. The dessert they have a corn bread tea cup, which is very interesting and inspiring. Since came in as birthday celebration, they give a cute surprise with chestnut cake and electric flower candle that plays birthday song. We love the little surprise. Would definitely love to come back in the future, hopefully they will have more surprises to discover!
See moreOne of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The service was amazing - our server Lindsay was kind and provided incredible hospitality. Everyone we interacted with including the host and food runners were helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding- I will be thinking about the pork and lychee salad (with impossible meat!! Lindsay THANK YOU!) forever. The cynar iced tea was so delicious and refreshing. We cannot wait to come back- thank you for a super memorable anniversary!
